A town hall meeting in Shanghai

"President Obama landed this morning in Shanghai -- Sunday night, Chinese time -- and is about half-way through his diplomatic jaunt in Asia. The president's plans in Shanghai include a meeting with the mayor and a town hall with local residents. Obama arrived from Singapore, from where he attended the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum, making news with the leaders of Russia and Burma. After a meeting between Obama and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, the two leaders predicated they would have a new arms reduction treaty by the end of the year. At a meeting of Association of Southeast Asia Nations, Obama told the military leader of Burma to release the imprisoned pro democracy leader Aung Suu Kyi. Obama and the Asian leaders tried to forge momentum on fighting global warming."

While the president is abroad "half-way through his diplomatic jaunt in Asia" so he can "meet with the mayor" and hold "a town hall with local residents" and take pictures with "the leaders of Russia and Burma" and make noises about "arms reduction", "democracy" and "global warming", the effective unemployment rate at home inexorably creeps towards 20%.

If he doesn't think video of a town hall meeting in China will anger and confuse the concerned and the unemployed here in America, he's clueless.
