Obama vows to 'get the job done' in Afghanistan

"In a preview of his speech next week announcing his plan to send more than 30,000 additional U.S. troops to Afghanistan, President Barack Obama Tuesday vowed that he'll "finish the job" of stabilizing the country and destroying the al-Qaida terror network."

He still needs to define "the job".

Does "finish the job" mean establish a representative republic? Does "get the job done" mean kick out all the terrorists? Does "the job" involve dragging Afghanistan into the 21st century?

Until we're told what is meant by "the job", we can neither measure progress nor formulate a plan of action.
