Pro choice groups and Palin

Palin chose to have five kids.

Palin chose to deliver a Downs baby.

Palin made her choices.

And, for making those choices, Palin was mocked, insulted, called a baby factory, and told that no woman with young kids should seek federal office. (Unlike Bobby Kennedy, who had 10 or 11 kids and a pregnant wife at home when he ran for president).

Criticize Palin's positions on the issues and her qualifications all day long.

But, don't critize Palin's choices, if you're really pro choice.

The failure of women's groups to defend Palin from these sexist attacks is stunning.

BTW - Imagine if a "progressive" candidate had been attacked for having 5 abortions? or, for performing 5 abortions? How many "privacy" and "women's bodily autonomy" and "not our place to judge" lectures would we have heard?

I agree. Palin wasn't qualified to serve as President but it was wrong to attack her choice to have a child and to ridicule her religious beliefs.

The hard cold truth is that "pro-choice" groups should just call themselves "pro-abortion". These groups do not respect anyone's choice to have a baby, especially a challenged baby like Trig.

Obviously I am not talking about every pro-choice person, but the "groups" that supposedly speak for choice.

I am truly a pro-choice person. If you choose to have an abortion, I can respect your decision. The same for someone who chooses to have a child, regardless of that child's abilities.

The only time I have negative thoughts about people who have children is when I hear about people who have no way to support those children, and will be relying on the state to do it for them.

Maybe that's just me.
