Cheney lied us into unnecessary wars. Then, Cheney personally profited from those wars through his business interests.
He endorsed torture, twisted our constitution to suit his purposes, and generally fits Joe Biden's description of him as "the worst vice president ever."
Republicans should agree. Cheney betrayed all their conservative economic principles, did nothing to advance their domestic agenda, and discredited their foreign policy credentials. During their 8 years in power, Cheney, Bush and Rove reduced the Republican party to irrelevant minority status.
But, do we really want to become one of those countries that hound their former elected leaders into prison or exile?

Guilty or not, look at history.
That way always seems to end in bloodshed and civil war.
When former leaders have nothing to lose, they start acting like they have nothing to lose. When officials fear what happens after they leave office, they start conspiring to hold their offices permanently. Don't let Cheney (unintentionally, this time) pervert another American democratic (small 'd') principle.

I don't think Cheney had as much to do with the 8 years of Bush policies as the foaming-at-the-mouth left likes to fantasize.
He became the bigger than life boogeyman because it was hard to square away all that evil mad genius Hitler stuff, with McChimpy Bush the Total Moron. How to explain the disconnect?
Well, we at first had Nazi John Ashcroft, who was going to send all American librarians to concentration camps or something. Remember? I'll never forget the fear and loathing, and hyperpole about that guy.
But then he's gone; so who among McDumbDumb's inner circle seems really smart? And who must be the brains behind it all? Cheney, that's who! And Rove, too. Yeah, that's the ticket.
A lot of your fellow pals in your party were still predicting up until a month or so ago, that Cheney/Rove would suspend the election and orchestrate a military coup and take over the government. Something like a THIRD of the voters in YOUR party think 911 was "an inside job."
Bah. Bah Humbug.
You're right about one thing. If the Leftist moonbats really want to keep pushing the envelope, they'd best not push TOO far. You want civil war? Best be careful what you wish you, you may just have it. And our side has the guns.
What FinFanJim said plus Cheney didn't make money on the wars.
He had some Halliburton stock in a trust but Halliburton lost its shirt on Iraq. I know it doesn't fit the narrative, but they did. They're a public company, anyone can see the books. The division that handled services for Iraq lost tons of money. Even their cost plus contracts didn't tend to include security costs... and they had to have their own to protect convoys and such.
