Most of the "progressive" pundits are withholding judgment as to whether Obama should fire McChrystal.
It's as if they know what Obama should do, but don't trust Obama to do it, and therefore don't want to be caught prospectively criticising him again.
After all, they all lobbied in advance for a public option, for an offshore drilling ban, for climate change legislation, for repeal of the Patriot Act, for the speedy closing of Guantanamo, for speedy disengagement from Iraq . . .
Update - As expected, as soon as the decision was announced, it was ruled brilliant by the "progressive" intelligentsia.
