Dreary and familiar?

President Barack Obama used his weekly address Saturday to take aim at Republicans' filibuster of legislation that would provide an extension of unemployment benefits.

"I was disappointed this week to see a dreary and familiar politics get in the way of our ability to move forward on a series of critical issues that have a direct impact on peoples' lives," Obama said.

"Dreary and familiar"? It sounds like some petulant child getting bored and frustrated with his summer job.
