More older Americans living in poverty

So why is anyone surprised that older Americans oppose funding health care reform with hundreds of billions of dollars of cuts in Medicare and increased Medicare co pays and deductibles? I remember when Medicare increases at less than the rate of inflation were considered cuts.

(And, what do you call a panel that takes money away from old people living in poverty? It may not be a "death panel", but it's certainly not a life extension panel.)
