Why do we listen to celebrity opinion?

"Across from the Capitol on Thursday, hundreds of people, including actress Edie Falco, rallied for a health care overhaul. Organizing for America, Obama's political operation within the Democratic National Committee, plans thousands of service events around the country Saturday aimed at building support for health care overhaul among a restive public wary of higher costs, lower quality and a giant price tag."

Edie Falco is a great actress and appears to be a wonderful person.

But, when she played a prison guard on "Oz", she wasn't a real life expert on criminal justice.

When she played the Mafia wife on "The Sopranos", she wasn't a real life expert on organized crime.

And, now that she's one month into playing a nurse on "Nurse Jackie", she's not a real life expert on health care reform.
