Way, way over the line

"CIA Director Leon Panetta says former Vice President Dick Cheney's criticism of the Obama administration's approach to terrorism almost suggests "he's wishing that this country would be attacked again, in order to make his point."

Like it or nor, there's always a degree of that.

Do you really think Obama and Pelosi were happy that the surge worked, and that they were proved wrong on tactics?

But, charges and fights like this are the job of the political wing, not the supposedly neutral reality based CIA.

I can't remember a CIA chief ever before engaging in such a blatant partisan political attack. Even if what Panetta said was right, Panetta saying it was wrong.
