Holocaust museum slaying

The Holocaust museum slaying reminded us that the membership of the various hate groups exceeds 100,000. They're armed and dangerous, and must be opposed and fought. Yet, out of 360,000,000+/- Americans, 100,000 is not so bad. At one time, the Klan literally ran states in the south and midwest, and the Bund held rallies in Madison Square Garden. The numbers show the real progress society has made in opposing sexism and racism and anti semitism.

But, what still really concerns me is that the president considered this guy a friend and mentor and father-substitute through most of his adult life:

"President Obama's controversial former pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, is blaming "them Jews" for keeping him from speaking to the president. Wright, the former pastor of Chicago's Trinity United Church of Christ, said he hasn't spoken to Obama since he became president. "Them Jews ain't going to let him talk to me. I told my baby daughter that he'll talk to me in five years when he's a lame duck, or in eight years when he's out of office," Wright told the Daily Press of Newport News following a Tuesday night sermon at the 95th annual Hampton University Ministers' Conference. "They will not let him to talk to somebody who calls a spade what it is. ... I said from the beginning: He's a politician; I'm a pastor. He's got to do what politicians do."

Fight them all and take away guns from crazy people, but I'm more concerned about anti semites in power than about nuts who read neo Nazi web sites.
