I guess Bush won on social security

[Democratic] House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md.: "We could and should consider a higher retirement age or one pegged to life span, more progressive Social Security and Medicare benefits, and a stronger safety net for the Americans who need it most."

The Democrats took back Congress in 2006 on the dual promises of (1) ending the Iraq war and (2) protecting social security.

The Democrats in Congress failed to do the first (50,000 permanent troops in permanent bases permanently occupying Iraq is not "ending the war").

And, it looks like the Democrats are getting ready to adopt Bush style "entitlement reform" after the 2010 election.

Please remind me - - what is the major difference between Bush/Cheney/Rove Republicans and Obama/Pelosi/Reid Democrats?
