More Mexican hypocrisy

Mexico's federal prison population has more than doubled in recent years amid the crackdown on drug cartels, and the overcrowded system needs to be revamped to prevent violence, the country's top police official said Friday.

It's funny. The Mexican government always criticizes the way the United States handles one social problem or another (immigration, drugs, prisons, etc.) But, it always turns out that Mexico handles the identical social issue much worse and with much gratuitous cruelty. For example, Mexico complains that Arizona profiles suspected illegal immigrants from Mexico, but the Mexican government regularly beats and rapes and otherwise abuses illegal immigrants to Mexico.

What's not funny is that those in power in Washington listen to the complaints of the Mexican government, and never call them on their hypocrisy.
