It's nice to have friends in high places

BP and its contractors missed and ignored warning signs prior to the massive oil well blowout in the Gulf of Mexico, showing an "insufficient consideration of risk" and raising questions about the know-how of key personnel, a group of technical experts concluded.

The federal inspectors could have discovered these "warning signs" if they had looked for them.

Unfortunately, the federal chief executive received more campaign donations from BP than anyone else, ever.

Amazingly, the media never makes this connection.
