Iran is medieval

"Iran's supreme leader formally endorsed Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for a second term as president Monday, but he withheld a powerful symbolic gesture — the kisses and close embrace that portrayed their bond four years ago. The awkward moment came when Ahmadinejad leaned forward, apparently to kiss the hand of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The supreme leader raised his left hand and gently diverted Ahmadinejad to kiss his robe."

Iran is living in medieval times.

Power and favor are demonstrated by whether you get to kiss "the supreme leader" on the cheek, the hand or the robe. After the ceremony, all the men go home to their wives and concubines to celebrate. It's a scene out of Ali Baba or Aladdin.

Do we really think we can deal with the people currently running Iran?
