"50 million Americans who lack health care"?

"President Barack Obama is still talking compromise on a comprehensive health care bill to extend coverage to nearly 50 million Americans who lack it and contain rising costs. Privately, Democrats are preparing a one-party push, which they feel is all but inevitable."

The alleged "50 million Americans who lack health care" includes illegal aliens. Guess what? Illegal aliens are not "Americans". Frankly, it's not the government's job to provide free health care to illegal aliens.

The alleged "50 million Americans who lack health care" includes young people who don't buy available health insurance because they feel it's cheaper in the long term to pay as they go out of their own pockets. Usually, if you're younger and healthy and your only expenses are well baby care and ob/gyn, that's correct (as long as no one gets sick!) This doesn't mean they have no health care. It means they have no health insurance.

The alleged "50 million Americans who lack health care" includes Americans who work overseas. Obviously, they don't have American health insurance.

Any health insurance reform which is not fact based, but based on lies and misrepresentations (on both sides of the debate), is doomed to failure.
