Typically Obama

[O]n Tuesday night Obama delivered his first address to the nation from the Oval Office, a "battle plan" for the oil crisis, trying to persuade the public that he's on top of the worst environmental disaster in the nation's history while also managing the broader challenges facing the nation.

Obama did not detail what this plan should include or how much it might cost, a price sure to be in the billions of dollars.

Whatever the bottom line, he said in his televised address, "We will make BP pay."

The speech had all the usual Obama elements - - a little phony macho posturing ("battle plan"), few specifics ("Obama did not detail what this plan should include"), no honest discussion of costs ("Obama did not detail . . . how much it might cost") and assurance that some other guy will pay ("We will make BP pay").
