Kendrick Meek [sought] . . . federal funding . . . for a developer, now awaiting trial on fraud charges, who put Meek's mother on his payroll. Meek succeeded his mother, Carrie, in Congress in 2003.http://www.usatoday.com/news/politics/2010-06-14-breakthrough_N.htm
Why is Kendrick Meek presented as an example of "the reality" that "top spots [are] still elusive" "for black candidates"?
Any candidate of any race with his ethical baggage would be in trouble.
