Presidential spin

A big presidential scheduling change for next week. President Obama, who had planned to speak at the climate change summit in Copenhagen on Wednesday, has now pushed that visit back to Dec. 18, saying it improves the chances for a deal on global warming. . . . The delay gives negotiators more time to work out remaining issues, he added. . . . Obama had planned to stop in Copenhagen while on his way to Oslo, Norway, for Thursday's presentation of the Nobel Peace prize. That trip is still on.

This is a nice way of saying he no longer wants to be so closely associated with the climate change summit.

Plus, our most widely travelled first year president now gets two trips to Europe in December, instead of just one. After which, it's off to Hawaii for Christmas.

I'm waiting to hear from all those who criticised Bush's constant travels and vacations.
