Huckabee?

If the Republicans want to win swing voters in 2012, their presidential nominee will be a balanced budget fiscal conservative with libertarian instincts on social issues without a hint of sexual scandal. It would be nice if they could find someone in the self proclaimed party of "personal morality" who's still monogamously involved with their first spouse.

Republicans don't have to nominate someone from the squishy center that abandons core GOP values.

But, if they want to win in 2012, they shouldn't nominate a Southern Baptist preacher and risk turning off northern non-evangelicals. Republicans nominating Huckabee would be the equivalent of Democrats nominating Massachusetts liberals in 1988 and 2004 - - a guaranteed defeat.
