Faint phrase

"The Obama administration will bring to an end the popular $3 billion ``cash for clunkers'' program Monday, giving car shoppers a few more days to take advantage of big government incentives. The Transportation Department said Thursday that the government will wind down the program on Monday at 8 p.m. Car buyers can receive rebates of $3,500 or $4,500 for trading in older vehicles for new, more fuel-efficient models. ``The program has been a huge success,'' said Marc Cannon, senior vice president of communications for AutoNation. ``Nobody is surprised. It's actually the first part of the stimulus that's worked or shown any results.''

"The first part of the stimulus that's worked or shown any results"?

Rather than brag about it, you would think the administration would be embarrassed by that "compliment".

Do you really think that this program worked? If you do you know little about selling cars. If you think someone got a deal it is nothing compared to the deal the auto sales people and the dealers profit at the taxpayer expense.
