Lawmaker quits over sex comments

"A Republican state lawmaker from Southern California resigned Wednesday amid growing outrage over a videotape that caught him bragging in graphic detail about having sex with a female lobbyist and another woman. Assemblyman Mike Duvall, whose votes on family-oriented legislation received high marks from conservative groups, said in a statement the furor over his comments had begun to divert attention from the work his fellow lawmakers were trying to finish during the final week of their session. Duvall is married and has two adult children."

Which is worse - - that this Republican "family values", anti gay state legislator was caught on tape bragging about his sex-ploits? or, that his "defense" is that he was just making it up to impress his buddy? Some people need to shut up and go away.

Like Mark Sanford.

"House Republicans overwhelmingly asked Gov. Mark Sanford to resign Wednesday, saying South Carolina is “mired in a distraction.” The letter, signed by 61 of 72 House Republicans, was delivered to Sanford on Wednesday. Sanford said he has no plans to resign and called the letter premature with an ongoing State Ethics Commission investigation yet to release any conclusions. into Sanford’s travels and expenses."

Does anyone remember the string of Democratic sex scandals from Mills to the Kennedys to Barney Frank to Bill Clinton, that contributed greatly to the Republican victories in 1994?

Forget about ideology or policy. The Democratic majorities in Congress are fairly secure until the Republicans can go one year without one of their hypocrites getting caught again.
