Ryan Seacrest?

The host of "American Idol" will be fielding a last-minute appeal for votes from President Obama in the latest intermingling of pop culture and politics.

An interview with Ryan Seacrest is one of several on Obama's call sheet on this day before the midterm elections. After a series of campaign appearances across the country, including four over the weekend, Obama had no public events on his schedule Monday.

As they send him from Oprah to The View to The Daily Show to Ryan Seacrest, Obama's advisors obviously fail to consider the impact on the question of whether the public thinks he's "presidential".

Appearing as the butt of the joke on comedy shows, and as one more vacuous celebrity on top 10 radio, is going to make it harder to argue that Obama is more serious than Sarah Palin.
